Potato and Broccoli Gratin

Instructions

  • 1.   Peel and cook 700 g of potatoes in a pot of salted water.
  • 2.   As soon as they are tender (check by poking them with a knife, the blade should go through the center effortlessly), drain them and when they have cooled a bit, cut them into pieces and spread them in a buttered gratin dish. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  • 3.   Prepare 500 g of broccoli (see here how to do it), and spread it over the potatoes.
  • 4.   Spread 250 g of béchamel sauce on top.
  • 5.   And finish by sprinkling 100 g of grated cheese on top, and bake for about 30 minutes...
  • 6.   ...until the top is nicely golden (feel free to give it a quick broil at the end).
