Sautéed Fennel with Olive Oil

A very simple and delicious recipe for braised fennel with olive oil.

Instructions

  • 1.   Clean the fennel by removing the toughest leaves. Wash them thoroughly and roughly slice them.
  • 2.   In a pan, heat some olive oil. When it is hot, add the fennel and cook over medium-high heat until it starts to brown. Then, add about 10 cl of water, reduce the heat, and let it cook for about half an hour.
  • 3.   There should be no liquid left at the end of cooking. If needed, add more water during cooking. Just before serving, deglaze with a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar.
