OyaKoDon (Parent and Child Rice Bowl)

To put it simply, OyaKoDon normally means parents (Oya) with child (Ko) on rice (Don). So it's a chicken omelette on rice. I don't eat meat, so I removed the chicken (hence the "Oya" in parentheses).

Instructions

  • 1.   Rinse the rice until the water becomes clear, then cook it.
  • 2.   In a frying pan/skillet, add a tablespoon of sweet soy sauce. Pour in the bell peppers (or onions) and simmer for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add a little water if necessary if it starts to stick.
  • 3.   - If you want to make it with chicken, add it.
    - Otherwise, beat the eggs for an omelette. Pour it over the bell peppers. Cover. Halfway through cooking, flip the omelette.
  • 4.   Serve the omelette over the rice, and add a little sweet soy sauce.

  • 140 g of basmati rice
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 small bell pepper (optional)
  • 2 small onion (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon of sweet soy sauce
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
