Beet Brownie

A chocolate brownie like no other... indeed, this brownie is made without butter and with beets. A delicious and original recipe that will delight your loved ones. If you love chocolate, you will adore Nono's beet brownie.

Instructions

  • 1.   Start by grating your beets and let them drain well for about ten minutes. Exactly the time it will take you to do the rest of your brownie.
  • 2.   Take your chocolate and chop it. I advise you not to chop it too finely in order to have crunchy chocolate chips in your brownie.
  • 3.   Take a bowl, break your eggs and put them in the bowl, add your brown sugar and there, very important, beat for 5 good minutes. I use an electric mixer to make the work easier.
  • 4.   And there you have it, add the almond powder, the beets, the chopped chocolate, the dark chocolate and the pinch of salt. I use big pinches of salt because I love it. Mix everything very gently and pour your mixture into a rectangular mold.
  • 5.   Bake your beet brownie for half an hour. You will think it is not cooked because of the beets releasing quite a bit of water, but after 30 minutes, take your brownie out of the oven. Let it cool down and then sprinkle it with powdered sugar.

  • 125 g of cooked beetroot
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 g of dark baking chocolate
  • 110 g of brown sugar
  • 80 g of almond powder
  • 2 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 tablespoon of powdered sugar
  • salt (according to taste)

    The oven temperature is missing. I set it to 200, but it was probably too high since it seems perfectly cooked (even too much) when I took it out of the oven.
