Easy Scones (England)

Instructions

  • 1.   In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  • 2.   Add the softened butter to the center and work it into the dry ingredients using your fingertips. Gradually add enough milk to bind the dough.
  • 3.   On a floured surface, lightly knead the dough and roll it out to a thickness of 2cm.
  • 4.   Cut out 5cm rounds using the edge of a floured glass.
  • 5.   Place the rounds on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C for 15 minutes.
  • 6.   Allow to cool on a wire rack.
  • 7.   Serve with a cup of tea, butter, and marmalade. Very English, isn't it?
