Cheese Croquettes

Cheese croquettes to be enjoyed as an appetizer or main course, accompanied by a salad and/or fries.

Instructions

  • 1.   Melt the butter over low heat.
  • 2.   Gradually add the flour.
  • 3.   Increase the heat and gradually add the milk.
  • 4.   Add the grated cheese.
  • 5.   Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  • 6.   Remove from heat, let cool, and refrigerate overnight.
  • 7.   Divide the mixture into about twenty croquettes.
  • 8.   Coat the croquette in breadcrumbs, then in beaten egg, and then in breadcrumbs again.
  • 9.   Fry.

Notes & Suggestions

  • The cheese croquettes can be frozen.

  • 250 g of wheat flour
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 600 g of grated cheese
  • 300 g of breadcrumbs
  • 280 g of egg
