Roasted feta with honey and sesame

Simple, quick, and terribly effective, the baked feta here turns into a little bomb of deliciousness. Between the crispiness of the pastry, the creaminess of the cheese, and the sweetness of the honey, this is the kind of recipe that disappears in a few minutes at the table.

Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • 2.   Place the feta on a sheet of phyllo pastry, lightly season with pepper.
  • 3.   Fold the pastry around to form a small package.
  • 4.   Brush with olive oil or melted butter, then add a second sheet for extra crispiness.
  • 5.   Place on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
  • 6.   When out of the oven, drizzle with honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • 7.   Serve immediately.

Notes & Suggestions

  • Add a pinch of thyme or oregano before baking to bring an even more fragrant Mediterranean touch.
