Creamy Potato and Leek Gratin

Instructions

  • 1.   Pre-cook the potatoes for 10 minutes in salted boiling water.
  • 2.   Rinse the leeks, cut off the green parts and keep the white parts. Cook them in salted boiling water for about 15 minutes. Slice them thinly.
  • 3.   Peel and slice the potatoes.
  • 4.   In a buttered gratin dish, alternate layers of potatoes and leeks, seasoning with salt and pepper between each layer. Pour in the broth and bake for 25 minutes at 200°C (392°F) (gas mark 6-7).
  • 5.   Mix the cheese and cream, pour over the gratin, and continue baking for about 15 minutes.

  • 100 g of grated Gruyère cheese
  • 10 cl of broth
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • salt (according to taste)
