Fun reindeer vegetable appetizer platter

Instructions

  • 1.   1️⃣ 🔪 Prepare the green vegetables
    Wash the Brussels sprouts and remove any damaged leaves. Cut off the base if necessary.
    Cut the broccoli into small florets. Reserve them in a dry place.
  • 2.   2️⃣ 🥕 Cut the crunchy vegetables
    Peel the carrots and cut them into regular sticks.
    Wash the cucumber and slice it thinly.
    Remove the seeds from the red pepper and cut it into long strips.
  • 3.   3️⃣ 🥖 Form the reindeer's head
    Arrange the breadsticks in the center of the platter to create the shape of the face. Align them tightly for a neat finish.
  • 4.   4️⃣ 🧀 Create the face
    Place the cracker in the center, then generously cover it with guacamole.
    Add a cherry tomato in the center to form the nose.
    Place the mozzarella balls for the eyes, then add a small piece of black olive in the center of each for the pupils.
    Arrange a black olive slice in a semicircle to draw the smile.
  • 5.   5️⃣ 🥨 Form the antlers
    Place the pretzels above the head to represent the reindeer's antlers. Adjust them for a symmetrical and playful effect.
  • 6.   6️⃣ 🥦 Dress the platter
    Arrange the Brussels sprouts around the top part.
    Place the cucumber slices on one side, the carrot sticks at the bottom, the pepper strips on one side, and the broccoli on the other to create a colorful frame.

    Check the color balance and adjust the quantities so that each guest can easily serve themselves.

    Prepare all the vegetables in advance and store them in airtight containers with a paper towel to keep them crunchy.

    The guacamole can be replaced with plain hummus or a spread of fresh cheese.

    🔥 Cooking tip

    If you prefer milder Brussels sprouts, blanch them for 3 minutes in salted boiling water, then immediately cool them in ice water before placing them on the platter.
