Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat your oven to broil (250°C/482°F).
  • 2.   Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, cook the macaroni for 7 minutes. Stir occasionally. When cooked, drain quickly and return to the pot, covered.
  • 3.   Cut and remove the base and the top of the leek (only the damaged and dry part). Cut it in half lengthwise and rinse thoroughly. Slice it. In a sauté pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté the leek for 7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper. Halfway through cooking, add a splash of water, cover to speed up cooking.
  • 4.   Peel and chop the garlic. Cut the Jura cheese into small pieces (about 1 cm).
  • 5.   When the macaroni and leeks are cooked, mix them together. Add the garlic and light cream. Season with salt and pepper, mix well. Place the mixture in a gratin dish. Sprinkle with the Jura cheese. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is nicely browned. Rinse and chop the chives. Serve the leek and Jura cheese macaroni gratin immediately, sprinkled with chives.
