Italian-style Croque-monsieur with cherry tomatoes

Instructions

  • 1.   Rinse the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half on your cutting board.
  • 2.   Slice the mozzarella.
  • 3.   Spread crème fraîche on each side of the bread slices.
  • 4.   Take one slice of bread and layer on top, alternating: 3 tomato halves and 3 slices of mozzarella.
  • 5.   Sprinkle with chopped basil and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 6.   Finish with another slice of bread.
  • 7.   Place in a croque-monsieur machine and cook for 10 minutes.

  • 8 slice of whole wheat sandwich bread
  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 mozzarella cheese
  • 1 stalk of fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 cup of thick sour cream
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
