Instructions

  • 1.   Peel the carrots and cut them in half lengthwise. Blanch them for 15 minutes in a large pot of boiling water.
  • 2.   Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Place the carrots in a buttered gratin dish, cover with cream, sprinkle with anise seeds, salt, and pepper.
  • 3.   Top with grated cheese and bake in the oven for 10 minutes until golden brown.
