Instructions

  • 1.   Take the butter out of the refrigerator. Cut it into pieces and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • 2.   Mix the flour, salt, yeast, sugar, and eggs. Knead with a mixer or by hand for 10 to 15 minutes, until the dough is no longer sticky. If needed, add a little milk.
  • 3.   &lt;a target="_blank" class="recipe-tip" href="https://www.cuisineactuelle.fr/culture-food/les-petits-plus-en-cuisine/gestes-techniques/10-termes-a-connaitre-en-cuisine-187073#e6k16"&gt;Incorporate the butter. Knead for another 10 to 15 minutes until the butter is incorporated.
  • 4.   Cover with a cloth and let it sit at room temperature for 1 hour. Punch down the dough. Shape 6 to 8 dough balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let them rise for at least 2 hours.
  • 5.   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). &lt;a target="_blank" class="recipe-tip" href="https://www.cuisineactuelle.fr/culture-food/les-petits-plus-en-cuisine/gestes-techniques/10-termes-a-connaitre-en-cuisine-187073#8drcr"&gt;Brush the top of the brioches with beaten egg yolk mixed with a little milk. Bake for 25 minutes in the oven.
