Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the broiler.
  • 2.   Chop the onions and melt them in butter for 15 minutes.
  • 3.   Sprinkle with flour and add garlic. When the flour has browned, pour in the hot broth, add the bay leaf, and let it cook for 15 minutes.
  • 4.   Adjust the seasoning.
  • 5.   Spread cheese on slices of bread and broil them in the oven.
  • 6.   Place on top of the soup and serve hot.
