Pumpkin and Potato Gratin

Do you have some leftover pumpkin and potatoes in your pantry and you're not sure how to use them? Prepare a delicious pumpkin and potato gratin in no time! Flavored with a few basil leaves and cooked in heavy cream, the slices of potatoes and pumpkin will be flavorful and tender.

Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Peel the potatoes and pumpkin. Slice them into thin slices, wash them, and dry them with paper towels.
  • 2.   Peel and slice the onion, then sauté it in a lightly oiled pan. Add the heavy cream, washed and dried basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper, and mix the preparation with a wooden spoon.
  • 3.   In a large bowl, mix the slices of potatoes and pumpkin.
  • 4.   Spread half of the mixture in a buttered gratin dish. Pour the onion and basil cream mixture over it. Cover with the remaining potatoes and pumpkin.
  • 5.   Bake for 20 minutes. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the pumpkin and potato gratin. Bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Serve hot.

  • 25 cl of liquid fresh cream
  • 70 g of grated cheese
  • 1 handful of basil
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper
