Sintra Cheese Tarts

Instructions

  • 1.   *-Prepare the dough:
  • 2.   Mix the flour, salt, melted butter, and enough water to form a smooth dough ball.
  • 3.   Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest at room temperature for 3 hours.
  • 4.   Mix the cottage cheese and sugar in a bowl.
  • 5.   Add the egg yolks, flour, and cinnamon.
  • 6.   Beat everything together until you have a smooth cream.
  • 7.   Roll out the dough on a floured surface.
  • 8.   Cut it into 6 discs using a cookie cutter.
  • 9.   Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • 10.   Place the dough discs in individual tart molds.
  • 11.   Fill the tart shells with the cream.
  • 12.   Bake for 15 minutes.
  • 13.   Allow to cool after removing from the oven.
  • 14.   Serve chilled.

  • 4 egg yolks
  • 60 g of flour
  • 350 g of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • salt (according to taste)
