Mamounié (Lebanese semolina cake)

Instructions

  • 1.   Mix the water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • 2.   While the water is heating, melt the butter in another saucepan and add the semolina.
  • 3.   Heat over medium heat and stir until the semolina starts to brown.
  • 4.   Remove the saucepans from the heat and pour the hot sweetened water into the semolina saucepan.
  • 5.   Add a capful of orange blossom essence and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • 6.   Mix well and let it rest until the semolina absorbs the water and the mixture becomes sticky.

  • 1 glass of fine couscous semolina
  • 2 glass of sugar
  • 3 glass of water
  • 50 g of butter
  • 5 ml of orange blossom water
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
