Creamy Potato and Spinach Gratin

A gratin that melts in your mouth... Enjoy with a fresh green salad.

Instructions

  • 1.   First, cook the potatoes in water. Once they are lukewarm, peel and slice them. Set aside.
  • 2.   Sort, wash, and blanch the spinach in boiling water for 15 minutes. Drain and squeeze out any excess water. Set aside.
  • 3.   Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic, then sauté them in butter. Add the spinach and cook until the liquid evaporates. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  • 4.   In a dish, layer the potatoes, spinach, 1/3 of the cream, and 1/3 of the grated gruyère cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Repeat the layers. Finish with a layer of potatoes, 1/3 of the cream, 1/3 of the gruyère cheese, and sprinkle with thyme.
  • 5.   Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 200°C.

  • 2 onions
  • 30 cl of semi-thick cream
  • 100 g of grated Gruyère cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon of butter
  • 1 stalk of thyme
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
