Instructions

  • 1.   Prick the sausages and put them in boiling water for 10 minutes, in the same pot that you will use for the preparation of the dish to keep the flavors.
  • 2.   Empty the pot. Reserve the sausages. Heat olive oil in it.
  • 3.   Sauté the sliced onions and crushed garlic without letting them get too brown.
  • 4.   Cut the sausages into 1.5 cm pieces and sauté them with the onions. After 5 minutes, add the tomatoes cut into small pieces and the seasonings (the chili pepper in pieces).
  • 5.   Mix everything together and let simmer over low heat, occasionally removing the lid to eliminate excess water.
  • 6.   Serve with Thai rice.

  • 4 tomatoes
  • 4 onions
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch of thyme
  • 1 leaf of bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)

    Thyme, bay leaf, turmeric, and garlic are not used in any type of rougail, especially in a sausage rougail. And especially in Reunionese cuisine, olive oil is hardly used (if not never), but vegetable oil is used instead. Your sausage rougail, is it from Mars or Jupiter!!! Ridiculous!!!
