Instructions

  • 1.   Butter both sides of the slices of bread (it's easier with melted butter and a brush). In a pan, sauté the minced onion with the ground meat in a little butter.
  • 2.   Then season with pepper.
  • 3.   Once cooked, place the meat on a slice of bread.
  • 4.   Then, on top of the meat, place a slice of melted cheese, smoked ham, 2 tomato slices, and a dollop of ketchup.
  • 5.   Cover everything with another slice of bread.
  • 6.   Press the Croque Monsieur firmly and secure it with a toothpick or skewer.
  • 7.   Then pan-fry both sides of the Croque Monsieur until golden.
  • 8.   Serve with a well-seasoned salad!
