Shepherd's Pie

Instructions

  • 1.   In a pot of salted water, cook the potatoes until very tender. Drain.
  • 2.   Using a masher, roughly mash the potatoes with at least 30 ml (2 tbsp) of butter. Using an electric mixer, blend the mixture into a smooth puree with the milk. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • 3.   Place the rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • 4.   In a large skillet, brown the onion in the remaining butter. Add the meat and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat.
  • 5.   Press the meat lightly into the bottom of a 20 cm (8-inch) square baking dish. Spread the corn over the meat, then spread the mashed potatoes on top. Sprinkle with paprika and parsley.
  • 6.   Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes. Finish cooking under the broiler. Let cool for 10 minutes.

  • 4 cup of Russet potato
  • ½ cup of butter
  • ½ cup of milk
  • 1 of ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 19 of cream-style corn
  • 1 pinch of sweet paprika
  • 1 pinch of dried parsley
  • 1 pinch of salt and pepper
