1. Prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, pour 3 tablespoons of water, mirin, soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic. Bring to a boil, then let it simmer over medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes until it thickens into a syrupy texture. Strain the sauce to remove the garlic and ginger.
2. Place a slice of carpaccio on a cutting board, place a stick of Emmental cheese at one end, then tightly roll the meat around it. Make twelve rolls like this and skewer them.
3. Preheat the Easy Fry for 3 minutes at 200°C. Brush each skewer with a little of the reduced sauce.
4. Arrange the skewers in the basket, spacing them out. Cook them in meat mode for 8 minutes at 200°C, flipping them halfway through cooking.
5. As soon as they come out of the Easy Fry, brush the skewers again with a thin layer of hot sauce to lightly glaze them, and serve immediately.
Notes & Suggestions
Serve the skewers with rice or a crunchy salad, and sprinkle them with sesame seeds.
