General Tso's Chicken

Crispy chicken cubes coated in a sweet and sour sauce with soy sauce, hoisin, and ginger (China).

Instructions

  • 1.   Place the chicken cubes in a bowl, add 2 tbsp of cornstarch, salt, and pepper, then mix to coat each piece evenly.
  • 2.   Preheat the Easy Fry for 3 minutes at 200°C. Place the chicken in the basket, spray with oil, and cook for 14 minutes at 200°C until crispy. During cooking, make sure to mix the chicken to brown evenly.
  • 3.   In a saucepan, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Add 1 tsp of cornstarch diluted in a little water and stir to obtain a smooth sauce. Place over low heat and cook for 5 minutes.
  • 4.   At the end of the chicken cooking, place it in the sauce to coat it well. Serve hot, sprinkled with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes & Suggestions

  • For a complete meal, place the chicken over a bowl of white rice.

  • 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame seed
  • 1 green onion
  • 1 drizzle of neutral oil (optional)
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
