Leeks & Smoked Salmon Croque Monsieur

A delicious seasonal version of croque monsieur full of flavor and creaminess!

Instructions

  • 1.   Remove the green parts and roots of the leeks and peel off the first layer.
  • 2.   Wash them and finely slice them.
  • 3.   Melt them in a sauté pan with butter. If needed, add a little water, they should be very tender.
  • 4.   Add the sour cream and mustard, and mix well.
  • 5.   On 6 slices of sandwich bread, spread the leek mixture.
  • 6.   Cover with a slice of smoked salmon, folding it if necessary.
  • 7.   Cut the mozzarella ball into slices, then cut each slice in half.
  • 8.   Place pieces of mozzarella on each croque.
  • 9.   Cover with the remaining 6 slices of bread.
  • 10.   Butter the top and bottom of the croque monsieur.
  • 11.   Cook them in a grill pan until they have a nice color.
  • 12.   Serve with a nice salad.

  • 12 slice of crustless sandwich bread
  • 300 g of leek
  • 6 slice of smoked salmon
  • 1 mozzarella ball
  • 3 tablespoon of sour cream
  • 10 g of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
