- Bring a pot of water to a boil to cook the bulgur. When the water boils, cook for 10 minutes until tender (taste to check). Stir occasionally.
- Once cooked, drain and return to the pot. Season with salt and pepper. Cover to keep warm.
2. Vegetables
- Peel and cut the turnip and carrot into small pieces (1 cm or less).
- In a sauté pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté the vegetables for 1 minute. Then, add the passata, water, and continue cooking for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, cover to speed up cooking. Add water if needed to achieve a sauce.
3. Kefta
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, cumin, a pinch of salt, and pepper. Using your hands, form small meatballs about 2 to 3 cm in diameter.
- After 10 minutes of cooking the vegetables, add them to the sauté pan, cover, and continue cooking for 5 minutes until the kefta are cooked.
