Skillet Apple Cake

Quick and easy recipe for a delicious and moist caramelized apple cake cooked in a skillet. No oven needed! Perfect for a quick snack for hungry kids coming home from school!

Instructions

  • 1.   Wash, peel, and cut the apples into small pieces. Place a knob of butter and the vanilla sugar in a 25 cm diameter skillet and gently melt the apples.
  • 2.   Pour the batter into the hot skillet (over the caramelized apples), cover, and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes over very low heat, until the cake is fully set.
  • 3.   In a bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
    In another bowl, beat the eggs with the oil, milk, and vanilla extract.
  • 4.   Pour this mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and mix well to incorporate all the ingredients.
  • 5.   Using an oiled plate, flip the cake and cook on the other side for about 5 minutes, still covered.
  • 6.   Flip the cake onto a plate.

  • 60 ml of melted butter
  • 100 ml of milk
