Gratinated Baguette with Apple and Raclette Cheese

Instructions

  • 1.   Before starting
    Preheat your oven to 240°C (464°F).
    Read all the steps, gather the necessary ingredients and utensils, and rinse the fruits and vegetables!
  • 2.   The baguette
    Cut the baguette in half, then cut each half in half again horizontally. Place it on a baking sheet and bake for about 5 to 7 minutes until golden.
  • 3.   The apple
    In a sauté pan, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium-high heat.
    Cut the yellow onion in half, peel it, and slice it thinly.
    Cut the apple into very thin slices (about 0.5 cm).
    Sauté the apple and onion for about 8 to 10 minutes until the apple is tender and golden. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 4.   Assembly
    Cut the raclette cheese into small pieces.
    Using a spoon, remove some of the bread crumbs from the baguette and fill it with the apple and raclette cheese.
    Bake for 5 minutes on the top rack until the cheese is gratinated.
  • 5.   The salad
    In a salad bowl, gradually add the following ingredients:
    Dice the tomato.
    Add the spinach sprouts and the remaining golden apple.
    When ready to serve, season the salad with a drizzle of olive oil and vinegar of your choice. Mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 6.   Serve your gratinated baguette with apple and raclette cheese immediately, accompanied by the salad.
