Lentils and Sausages in the Thermomix

They are often compared to a "vegetable steak". Some nutritionists even claim that they contribute to lowering cholesterol levels. They are certainly part of the pillars of the Mediterranean diet, which is considered one of the most suitable for humans. I recommend using green lentils from Puy for this Thermomix lentil recipe. The latter is grown, sorted, and packaged exclusively in Haute-Loire on an area of ​​5000 hectares and benefits from its own AOC since 1996. It is also the very first vegetable to benefit from a controlled designation of origin in France. The particular climate of Puy-en-Velay and the geography of the area give the Green Lentil of Puy its gastronomic qualities: quick cooking, non-floury almond, delicate taste. Seeds of the same variety, grown elsewhere in France or in the world, do not offer a product of the same quality. Instructions

  • 1.   Place 1 yellow onion cut in half in the Thermomix and mix 10 sec/speed 5. Then scrape the sides of the bowl with the spatula.
  • 2.   Add 2 peeled and sliced carrots and 150 grams of smoked bacon in the Thermomix. Cook 5 min/100°C//.
  • 3.   Add 250 grams of lentils, 600 grams of water, 1 beef bouillon cube, 1 tablespoon of mustard, 8 chipolata sausages pricked with a fork, 1 pinch of salt (adjust according to taste), 2 pinches of pepper (adjust according to taste), and 1 bay leaf in the Thermomix. Cook 45 min/100°C//.
  • 4.   Transfer the contents of the Thermomix to a serving dish.
  • 5.   Place 15 washed and chopped fresh coriander leaves on top of the preparation.
  • 6.   Serve immediately.
