Spiced Beef Kebabs

Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • 2.   Mix the ground beef with 2 tablespoons of water, the spices (except for the chili), salt, and pepper.
  • 3.   Divide the ground beef mixture into 8 equal balls. Thread each ball onto a skewer and flatten it on three-quarters of the skewer's surface to form small sausages. Sprinkle the kebabs with chili powder. Place them in a baking dish. Drizzle with oil and bake for 20 minutes, turning them occasionally.
  • 4.   Serve the hot beef kebabs on a plate or in bread (pita or baguette) accompanied by whipped yogurt with chopped mint.

Ingredients for servings

  • 600 g of ground meat
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of anise seed
  • ½ teaspoon of powdered chili
  • 1 teaspoon of curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon of sesame seed
  • 4 tablespoon of sunflower oil
  • 1 plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh mint
  • 1 baguette (optional)
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
