Tuna and Tomato Cake

Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • 2.   Mix the all-purpose flour and baking powder in a bowl. Make a well in the center and add the whole eggs, warm milk, and olive oil. Mix well until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous batter.
  • 3.   Drain and crumble the canned tuna in a bowl using a fork. Add it to the batter along with the tomato paste and grated gruyère cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then mix again.
  • 4.   Grease and flour a loaf pan and pour the batter into it. Bake the tuna and tomato cake for 40 minutes, checking the doneness with the tip of a knife. It should come out clean and dry at the end of the cooking time.
  • 5.   When the tuna and tomato cake is well cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack. Then, unmold it onto a serving dish. Present it on a serving platter and enjoy it as an entrée or as an appetizer.

  • 2 small canned tuna in water (drained weight)
  • 1 small tomato paste
  • 3 eggs
  • 10 cl of olive oil
  • 10 cl of milk
  • 1 bag of baking powder

  • pepper (according to taste)
