Tuna and Capers Pasta

Instructions

  • 1.   Wash, peel, and chop the onion.
  • 2.   Cook the pasta as usual in a large pot, then drain it.
  • 3.   Meanwhile, sauté the onion and chili (if using) in olive oil for 5 minutes, until the onion is softened and slightly caramelized.
  • 4.   Increase the heat and add the tomatoes, tuna, capers, and a good pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and let simmer for about ten minutes. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
  • 5.   Pour the pasta into the sauce, reheat if necessary, and add the lemon juice (and zest if desired).
  • 6.   Mix well, check the seasoning, and serve immediately.
    No need to add cheese or condiments, the flavor is already pronounced with the capers.

  • 1 canned tuna in oil (drained weight)
  • 1 onion
  • 400 g of tomato coulis
  • 300 g of penne
  • 2 tablespoon of lemon
  • 1 pinch of powdered chili
  • 1 tablespoon of caper
