Parmentier Shepherd's Pie

Instructions

  • 1.   Steam the potatoes for 35 minutes, then peel them and mash them.
    Heat the milk and pour it over the mashed potatoes while stirring.
    Add the butter in small pieces, season with salt and pepper, mix well and keep warm.
  • 2.   Peel and finely chop the onions.
    Heat oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onions, stirring.
    Add the ground beef and continue cooking for 5 minutes, stirring.
    Season with salt and pepper.
  • 3.   Preheat the oven to 240 °C (464 °F).
    Lightly oil a baking dish.
    Spread the beef and onion mixture at the bottom of the dish and cover it with the mashed potatoes.
  • 4.   Sprinkle with grated Gruyère cheese and breadcrumbs, place in the oven and bake until the top is golden.
  • 5.   Serve the Parmentier Shepherd's Pie immediately after removing from the oven with a green salad.

  • 1 kg of ground beef
  • 800 g of potato
  • 100 g of salted butter
  • 15 cl of milk
  • 2 onions
  • 1 grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 rapeseed oil
  • 1 breadcrumbs
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
