1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the onion in 1 tablespoon of olive oil for 5 minutes. Add the ham and cook for 1 minute.
3. Pour in the cream, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 6 minutes. Add the diced zucchini and continue cooking for 2 to 4 minutes, or until the mixture has reduced and slightly thickened. Season with pepper.
4. Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water according to the package instructions. Drain and return to the pot.
5. Add the sauce to the pasta, along with roughly chopped basil and three-quarters of the cheese. Mix well and season to taste.
6. Transfer the mixture to a lightly greased baking dish, sprinkle with the remaining cheese, and bake for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
