Smoked salmon croque monsieur

Instructions

  • 1.   Remove the crust from the sliced bread. Butter one side of each slice.
  • 2.   Peel the lemon, removing the white pith. Separate the segments by running a knife between the white membranes, then chop the pulp.
  • 3.   Cut the salmon to fit perfectly on the slices of bread. Do the same with the cheese.

    Place a slice of salmon on the buttered side of a slice of bread.

    Season with pepper and sprinkle with chopped lemon pulp.

    Add a slice of cheese. Cover with another slice of bread, buttered side up. Make six croque monsieur sandwiches this way.
  • 4.   Cook the croque monsieur sandwiches in a suitable appliance for 5 minutes. Let them cool slightly, then cut them into thirds or squares and serve immediately.

  • 1 lemon
  • 50 g of butter
  • pepper (according to taste)
