Irish apple pie

Traditional Irish apple pie for St. Patrick's Day

Instructions

  • 1.   For the streusel: in a small bowl, pour all the ingredients and crumble with your fingertips like a crumble, then refrigerate.
  • 2.   Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • 3.   In a bowl, cream the margarine with the sugar using a large spoon. Add the applesauce and mix again.
  • 4.   Pour in the milk, flour, baking powder, spices, and whisk together, then set aside.
  • 5.   Peel the apples, remove the core, and cut the quarters into slices.
  • 6.   Pour the mixture into a greased and floured 18cm (7-inch) pan. Then place the apple slices on top.
  • 7.   Take out the streusel and crumble it over the apples.
  • 8.   Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • 9.   Let it cool.

Notes & Suggestions

  • It can be eaten cold, warm as is, or with custard or whipped cream.

  • 80 g of vegetable margarine
  • 80 g of sugar
  • 50 g of unsweetened applesauce
  • 125 g of flour
  • 1 bag of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of clove
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 2 tablespoon of hazelnut milk
  • 3 medium apple
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Streusel :
  • 50 g of flour
  • 12 g of oat flake
  • 40 g of sugar
  • 60 g of coconut oil
