Flammekueche (Tarte Flambée)

Here we offer you the Lorraine version of the tarte flambée. For an Alsatian version, simply replace the cream with quark cheese.

Instructions

  • 1.   The dough: knead the flour, salt, and oil for 5 minutes to obtain a homogeneous and slightly elastic dough ball. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  • 2.   Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F).
  • 3.   Slice the onions.
  • 4.   Mix the cream, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • 5.   Roll out the dough and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the cream, onions, and bacon on the dough.
  • 6.   Bake for 5 minutes and serve hot.

  • 15 cl of warm water
  • 2 onions
  • 150 g of thick sour cream
  • 200 g of smoked bacon
  • salt (according to taste)
