Tomato, Tuna, and Mustard Tart

Instructions

  • 1.   Precook the pastry (pricked with a fork) for 5 minutes at 230°C (450°F).
  • 2.   Meanwhile, slice the tomatoes into 3mm thick rounds. Remove the seeds.
  • 3.   Remove the pre-cooked pastry from the oven. Spread Dijon mustard on the bottom (classic mustard works too)...use enough to cover the bottom of the pastry.
  • 4.   Crumble the tuna. Arrange the tomato slices. Create multiple layers.
    Add mozzarella and grated Emmental cheese.
  • 5.   Sprinkle with Herbes de Provence + 2 pinches of salt.
  • 6.   Drizzle with a tablespoon of olive oil.
  • 7.   Bake for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (350°F), then cover with aluminum foil for an additional 20 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil and let it cook for another 5 minutes, then another 5 minutes with the oven door open at 230 degrees Celsius (450°F).

Notes & Suggestions

  • Delicious with a green salad or a Greek salad.

  • 1 canned tuna in oil (drained weight)
