Instructions

  • 1.   Start the cabbage stew recipe by plunging the pork shoulder and bacon cut into pieces into a pot of boiling water. Let cook for 20 minutes. Drain and discard the water.
  • 2.   Wash all the vegetables. Peel the onions and stud them with cloves. Peel the carrots, turnips, and potatoes. Cut them into pieces. Cut the leeks into sections. Cut the cabbage into quarters.
  • 3.   Put all the vegetables except the cabbage and potatoes in the pot. Add the pork shoulder and bacon. Cover with plenty of cold water. Bring to a boil and let cook for 40 minutes.
  • 4.   Add the cabbage and potatoes, a little salt and pepper to the pot. Continue cooking for 30 minutes covered.
