3. Spread a little cream on the 8 slices of bread. Add some grated gruyère cheese, a slice of ham, and a slice of hamburger cheese on each slice of bread. Close with the remaining four slices of bread.

4. In a wide bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, salt, and pepper. Heat a frying pan with a little butter. Dip each Croque Monsieur in the mixture on both sides.
