Light tuna croque monsieur

Instructions

  • 1.   In a bowl, crumble the drained tuna, then add the cream cheese, mustard, and pepper.
  • 2.   Spread this mixture on the slices of bread, then place a tomato slice and 2 slices of gruyère on each one. Close the croque monsieur with another slice of bread.
  • 3.   Melt the butter in the microwave and brush it on both sides of each croque monsieur.
  • 4.   Toast the croque monsieurs in the oven, under the broiler, for about 5 minutes. Be careful not to burn them, as it happens quickly!

Ingredients for servings

  • 8 slice of whole wheat sandwich bread
  • 300 g of canned tuna in water (drained weight)
  • 80 g of gruyère
  • 4 tablespoon of cream cheese
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 tablespoon of melted butter
  • ½ tablespoon of mustard
  • pepper (according to taste)
