Shrimp and Mushroom Pasta

Instructions

  • 1.   Prepare the shrimp and mushroom sauce: heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the shallot and garlic, sauté them for a bit. Be careful not to burn them!
  • 2.   Then add the shrimp, sprinkle them with spices and herbs. Mix and quickly sauté them (2 minutes). Remove the shrimp and set them aside.
  • 3.   In the same skillet, sauté the mushrooms (add a little oil if needed). If you are using canned mushrooms, skip this step and simply add your mushrooms to the shrimp after rinsing and draining them (no need to remove the shrimp).
  • 4.   When the mushrooms have released their water, put the shrimp back in the skillet, pour in the broth, cream, and parmesan. Season with salt and pepper to taste (be careful, the broth and cheese are already salty).
  • 5.   Bring everything to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it cook for a few minutes, until the sauce thickens to your liking. Remember that the sauce will thicken even more as it cools.
  • 6.   While your sauce is cooking, bring salted water to a boil in a large pot. Once the water is boiling, add your pasta and cook for approximately the time indicated on the pasta packaging. Drain the pasta, making sure to reserve a little cooking water (if your sauce is too thick, you can add some of this water).
  • 7.   Add the drained pasta to the sauce and mix. If needed, add a little pasta cooking water (if you find the sauce too thick). Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve immediately!

  • 125 ml of bouillon cube
  • 250 ml of liquid fresh cream
  • 100 g of grated cheese
  • ½ teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 tablespoon of Provence herb
  • 250 g of pasta
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
  • parsley (according to taste)
